PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjacent disturbance detection apparatus for detecting the effect of adjacent disturbance with high accuracy and an adjacent disturbance elimination apparatus for eliminating the effect of adjacent disturbance. SOLUTION: The adjacent disturbance detection apparatus 100 comprises: a first tuner section 1 for tuning and receiving a desired wave produced in a reception antenna ANT; a second tuner section 2 for tuning and receiving a radio wave with a frequency different from that of the desired wave; and an arithmetic section 3 for calculating a ratio of S meter signals S1, S2 outputted from the tuner sections 1, 2 to provide an output of a detection signal Sud denoting a degree of the adjacent disturbance. Thus, the adjacent disturbance detection apparatus 100 can quantitatively detect the effect of the adjacent disturbance excluding other effects such as multi-path and a weak electric field. The adjacent disturbance elimination apparatus 200 comprises: the adjacent disturbance detection apparatus 100; and an intermediate frequency band variable filter4a that passes through an intermediate frequency signal IF1 outputted from the first tuner section 1 and deviates or adjusts the pass band in response to a level of the detection signal Sud.
