PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device which can match a drive point and a gravity center and also maintain high sensitivity. SOLUTION: An optical pickup device comprises; a pickup base 42 arranged movably relative to an optical recording medium D; a support section 45 provided in this; magnet members 64A and 64B which are provided to erect from the pickup base; a lens holder 46 having an objective lens for irradiating an optical spot; support wires 44 supporting swingably the lens holder; a focus coil section 58 provided in the lens holder; and a tracking coil section 60 provided in the lens holder. The focus coil section consists of a rectangle tube-like large coil 58A and a small coil 58B and is prepared so that the small coil is held in the large coil, and a tracking coil section is put between inside of one side of the large coil and outside of one side of the small coil in one side nearest to an objective lens among four sides of the large size and small size coils.
