PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a split type insulator of an axial gap type rotating electric machine which can easily hold a shape at a coil winding time even if a variation exists in a core laminating thickness. SOLUTION: The insulator 1 of the axial gap type rotating electric machine has a plurality of stators made by winding a coil through a trapezoidal cylindrical insulator having collars at both axial ends in the trapezoidal columnar core. The insulator 1 has an outer peripheral side 2 and an inner peripheral side 3 engaged with and coupled to one another at a leg face 1c. The engaging part 5 of the inner peripheral side 3 can be engaged with the engaging part 4 of the outer peripheral side 2 from the inside of the outer peripheral side 2. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
