PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection apparatus which is capable of easily and accurately performing processing for changing a state of a projection image. SOLUTION: An image projection apparatus for projecting an image includes a projection optical system (5), a detection means (9) for detecting an inclination angle of the image projection apparatus with respect to a reference direction, and a control means (8) for performing processing for changing a state of a projection image based on a result of the detection due to the detection means (9).
