摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide extremely thin and high strength composite fiber and a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The high-strength composite fiber contains both of polyethylene terephthalate and carbon nanotubes and the weight proportion of the carbon nanotubes is 2 to 10 % based on the total weight of both substances. The production method for this high-strength composite fiber comprises the mixing process step where polyethylene terephthalate and carbon nanotubes are mixed, the kneading process step where the material prepared in the mixing step is kneaded, the fiber-spinning process step where the material prepared in the kneading step is spun into fiber and the heating drawing process step where the fiber prepared in the fiber-spinning step is drawn is heated with carbon dioxide laser beam.
