PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vibrations of a light column at the time of machining. SOLUTION: The column equipped with a spindle 3 rotatably supporting a tool 1 can move in two horizontal directions which are orthogonal to each other through a lower slide mechanism 26 in regard to a machine bed 9. The column can move in two horizontal directions which are orthogonal to each other through an upper slide mechanism 54. A spindle 49 is placed on an upper part of the upper slide mechanism 54. The spindle 49 is attached to upper parts of spindle supporting plates 55, 57 rising from the machine bed 9, and the column moves to the machine bed 9 while receiving a load of the spindle 49.
