The large building panel (1) is made of several rectangular plates (2) butted together along their edges (3). The plates may measure 2000 mm x 5000 mm. Each plate may have cladding sheets made of high value material, incorporating wood, wood fibers or laminated material. The middle layer is made of planks of cheap material with their broad sides glued together, and their edges glued to the cladding sheets.
