<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection-type image display device capable of efficiently cooling a light source part and a display device. <P>SOLUTION: The projection-type image display device is equipped with a body which has a suction port and an exhaust port and in which a heating element is housed; a lamp unit having a light source lamp and a housing in which the light source lamp is housed and which is equipped with an air discharge port communicating with an air take-in port and the exhaust port; a duct having one end adjacent to the suction port, with the other end adjacent to the air take-in port and an air flow passage coupling the one end and the other end; a heat radiating part thermally connected to a heating element and at least partially positioned in the air flow passage of the duct; and a fan sucking air from the suction port through one end of the duct, sending the air to the air take-in port through the other end of the duct and also positioned in between the heat radiation member positioned in the air flow passage and the other end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
