<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semitransmission type liquid crystal display wherein a numerical aperture in a transmission region can be increased, while steps are simplified, and to provide its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The semitransmission type liquid crystal display is provided with a gate line, including a first transparent conductive layer, a first insulating film on the gate line, a data line crossing the gate line and determining a pixel region having a transmission region and a reflection region, a thin-film transistor connected to the gate line and the data line, a pixel electrode including a first conductive layer, a storage capacitor, including a storage upper electrode superposed on the gate line, a transmission hole by which a part of the first transparent conductive layer of the pixel electrode is exposed and a reflection electrode formed in the reflection region and connecting the pixel electrode to the thin-film transistor and the storage upper electrode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
