<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect deterioration of a power supply path early, in an exhaust emission control device treating exhaust gas by application of high voltage. <P>SOLUTION: Projections 49a for inducing insulation breakage are disposed to a shield layer 49 in a cap in a plug cap 46. If there is damage such as a crack or deterioration in an insulator part 48 of the plug cap 46, the insulation breakage between them is induced by action of the projections 49a and a spiral groove 48a of the insulator part 48 to accelerate the discharge. Therefore, large current instantaneously passes between them and power supply is shut off in response to the passage of the large current, to stop the power supply to a reactor 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
