PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce required sample hold capacity in a solid-state imaging device capable of adding signals from a light receiving element together. SOLUTION: The solid state imaging device comprises signal lines 112-114 to which light receiving elements 101-a to 101i; a clamp circuit which is provided with clamp capacitors 102-a to 102-c whose one end is connected to the signal line while the other is shorted, and a switch 103 for applying a reference voltage to the other end by clamp operation to add signals from a plurality of light receiving elements provided in row direction along with clamp operation; adding means (switches 104-106, 108-a to 108c, capacitors 107-a to 107-c) that are connected to the other end of clamp capacity, and add a plurality of light receiving elements provided in column direction by adding addition signals of each light receiving element outputted from the other end; an amplifier 601 connected to the adding means; a switch 110 for resetting the input side of the amplifier; and circuit means (switches 602, 603, 606-a, 606-b, capacitors 604, 605) for offsetting the amplifier and outputting the signal from the amplifier.
