PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide information recorder and recording method in which the information of place name is attained conveniently without using GPS and information of image, or the like, can be recorded while being distributed in unit of place name. SOLUTION: The information recorder comprises a recording means (6) for recording information, a communication means (7) for transmitting/receiving a signal through utilization of a mobile communication network, an address information extraction means (4) for extracting information specifying the address of a base station in the mobile communication network from a signal received by the communication means, a folder generation means (4) for generating a folder having a place name obtained from the address information extracted by the address information extracting means in the recording means, and a classification means (4) for distributing the information to the folder.
