PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery reliably and inexpensively starting bypass of discharge current or charge current in overcharge and free from being disabled. SOLUTION: The battery in which a negative electrode terminal 16 is fit to a cover plate 14 having conductivity through an insulator 22 has an N-channel type field effect transistor 18 connected to between the negative electrode terminal 16 and the cover plate 14, a source electrode 24 of the N-channel type field effect transistor 18 is connected to between the negative electrode terminal 16 and an insulator 22, and a common electrode (a drain electrode and a gate electrode) 26 is connected to the cover plate 14.
