PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prism unit which has high accuracy in terms of the position and direction of a prism surface reflecting light, with reference to a prism holding frame, and which can be easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A sheet-like holding member (31) which is wider than the prism (25) is adhered on the inclined surface (25c) of the prism 25, and the holding member (31) is fixed to the prism-holding frame, in a state where the surface on the prism (25) side of the projecting edge part of the holding member (31) is brought into contact with a reference plane arranged in the prism-holding frame. By having the reference plane of the prism-holding frame faces outward, the reference plane can be accurately formed, while the prism holding frame is manufactured by resin-molding.
