PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user profile editing device with which a user profile is easily edited so as to be suitable for user's tastes more. SOLUTION: A recording and reproduction processing part 21 of a recording and reproduction part 2 performs an automatic video recording based on an electronic program guide in an electronic program guide storage part 22 and the user profile in a profile storage part 23. In a user profile editing part 1, an input part 11 inputs a query sentence by natural language, a retrieval part 13 retrieves a web page on the Internet via a communication part 14 based on a retrieval sentence obtained from the query sentence, an information extraction part 15 extracts predetermined information from the web page obtained by retrieval, the retrieval part 13 extracts reply candidates to the query sentence from the extracted information and a profile management part 17 edits the user profile in the profile storage part 23 of the recording and reproduction part 2 based on the whole or a part of the reply candidates.
