PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small outdoor installation type electric power supply device of low cost capable of preventing failure and electric shock caused by water. SOLUTION: The outdoor installation type electric power supply device 1 installed outdoors and supplying electric power comprises a case 4 having an opening 2 housing a receptacle 3, a lid-formed cover 5 arranged on the case 4 capable of opening and closing the opening 2, an opening/closing detection means 6 detecting the opening/closing state of the cover 5, a plug detection means 8 detecting whether a plug 7 is connected to the receptacle 3 or not, and a power supply control means 9 supplying power to the receptacle when the opening/closing detection means 6 detects the closing of the cover 5 through the opening/closing detection means 6.
