PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a reduction in the diameter of a hose without impairing the performance during travel when the maximum flow amount is required, while reducing pulsation during non-travel. SOLUTION: This hydraulic device for a hydraulic travel machine comprises a hydraulic pump and a direction changing valve group connected to the discharge side of the hydraulic pump. It has a first hydraulic pressure pipe for connecting the hydraulic pump to the direction changing valve group, a second hydraulic pressure pipe connected in parallel to the first hydraulic pressure pipe, and an on-off valve provided on one of the first hydraulic pressure pipe and the second hydraulic pressure pipe for changing over a flow path to be closed/opened.
