PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction in weight of a chain guide, which is a requirement of a racing bicycle. SOLUTION: This chain guide 3 for the front derailleur of the bicycle has a first plate 4 for shifting a chain from a first toothed crown to a second toothed crown having a larger diameter, a second plate 5 for shifting the chain from the second toothed crown to the first toothed crown and a connecting means 7 between the first and second plates. The first plate has a first thrusting part 41 for shifting the chain from the first toothed crown to the second toothed crown, and the first pushing part 41 is a projected part 46 formed on a first part 410 of the plate.
