<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display system changing apparatus and a method for the same, for automatically changing the display system of a television receiver to over-scan or under-scan according to the content of a screen. <P>SOLUTION: When a computer 11 connected to the television receiver 12 is used, where the playback of a DVD and a game are started, a call from applications 13 and 14 to APIs (Application Program Interface) 18 and 19 is detected by a device driver 16, and an output system to the television receiver 12 is changed to over-scan, thereby a moving picture and the game are displayed on the television receiver 12 in over-scan manner. When the play-back of the DVD and the game are finished, however, the call to the APIs 18 and 19 for releasing a resource is detected by the device driver 16; and the output system is returned to under-scan and thereby, the computer screen is displayed on the television receiver 12 in under-scan. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
