<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for treating exhaust gas from a diesel engine, which is activated at a temperature lower than usual. <P>SOLUTION: The combustion catalyst for treating exhaust gas from the diesel engine is obtained by depositing potassium and ruthenium as catalytic metals on a carrier consisting of an oxide-based ceramic particle containing cerium. It is preferable that the amount of potassium to be deposited is 1-30 wt.% of the carrier, the amount of ruthenium to be deposited is 0.1-30 wt.% of the carrier and the cerium content in the carrier is ≥50 wt.%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
