PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a progressive signal with higher accuracy in an image pickup device that can convert an interlace signal into the progressive signal. SOLUTION: In this image pickup device for converting the interlace signal into the progressive signal by generating interpolation pixels by synthesizing in-field pixels and other field pixels at a prescribed ratio, a vibration-proof function belonging to the image pickup device is used to determine the movement of the device, and a synthesis ratio of the in-field pixels and the other field pixels is changed in accordance with the determination result.
