PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose the constitution for an original manuscript feeder by which opening/closing operation of an original manuscript supply tray at the time of taking out the discharged original manuscript is facilitated, while surely holding the original manuscript supply tray so as to prevent it from turning when an original manuscript pressing cover is released. SOLUTION: The original manuscript feeder 7 is mounted to the upper face of the original manuscript pressing cover 5 provided freely turnably to a device body and constituted so as to continuously feed the original manuscript. The original manuscript feeder 7 is provided with: an original manuscript feeding part 8 provided to one end side of the original manuscript pressing cover 5; the original manuscript supply tray 9 connected to the original manuscript feeder 8 and provided freely rotatably to the original manuscript pressing cover 5; an original manuscript discharge tray 10 formed at a lower position of the original manuscript supply tray 9; and a holding mechanism 20 regulating so as to prevent the original manuscript supply tray 9 from rotating by engaging the original manuscript supply tray 9 and the original manuscript pressing cover 5. As the holding mechanism 20, a support body 21 composed of a magnetic body is provided to either the original manuscript supply tray 9 or the original manuscript pressing cover 5, and a magnet 22 is provided to the other respectively.
