PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of an electromagnetic relay that cut-off of the movable contact part from the fixed contact part is unsteady and the total size is large. SOLUTION: The electromagnetic relay is composed of fixed contact parts 36 and 40 fitted to housings 21, 22; movable contact parts 45 and 47 supported by the housings capable of contacting and separating from the fixed contact parts; exciting means 30, 60 and 61 which make the movable contact parts contact the fixed contact parts by electromagnetic action; a first energizing means 63 energizing the movable contact parts in the direction separating from the fixed contact parts; and a second energizing means 48 energizing the movable contact part in the direction approaching to the fixed contact part.
