PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize feed operation of an optical pickup under a broad operating temperature environment in a drive mechanism of the optical pickup using a stepping motor. SOLUTION: A stepping motor controller 23 moves a base 7 of the optical pickup 3 by carrying out micro step drive of a stepping motor 4 in a radial direction of the optical disk 1 in order to perform an optical axis correction transfer operation according to a lens shift amount of an objective lens 5 of the optical pickup 3. At this time, the temperature in the device is detected by a temperature sensor 17. When the detected temperature in the device is equal to or less than predetermined temperature, a drive current supply period determination section 31 sets the supply period of a pulse-like drive current whose envelope curve is a sinusoidal shape at the supply period of a fixed value longer than the time of normal temperature, or the time period which is multiplied by the coefficient according to temperature in the device, and increase the current supply period of the drive current.
