PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optionally acquire information for an error content or an operation content for error cancellation while keeping the processing state of one transaction. SOLUTION: Operation guide data 9a (11a) for outputting explanation of an operation method are recorded in a ROM 9 or an external storage medium 11 of a sales data processor 1. A CPU 2 determines, when an output request of operation guide is inputted by operation for an operation guide key 3a, whether printing processing of one transaction by a printer 8 is in progress or not, makes a display device 7 display an operation guide based on the operation guide data if the printing processing is in progress, and makes the printer 8 print the operation guide based on the operation guide data if the printing processing is not in progress.
