PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the stray capacitance produced between image data supply line and wiring for supplying sampling pulses. SOLUTION: A data line drive circuit 200 successively shifts X-transfer start pulses DY, according to an X clock XCK and generates sampling pulses SR 1, SR 2, ..., SRn. These sampling pulses are supplied to a first latch 220 via each wiring intersecting with image data supply lines L 1 to L 9. The first latch 220 latches image data DR, DG, and DB, on the basis of the sampling pulses SR 1, SR 2, ..., SRn. Consequently, there is no need for supplying inverted sampling pulses to the first latch 220 so that the number of the wiring can be reduced and the stray capacitance can be reduced.
