PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately measure a flammable gas concentration without affecting an electric resistance value of a reference element by heat generated in a detecting element brought into catalytic combustion with a flammable gas, in a flammable gas concentration detector using a catalytic combustion type gas sensor having the detecting element and the reference element. SOLUTION: The detecting element and the reference element are arranged in a conduit through which a measured gas flows, and the reference element is arranged in an upstream of the the detecting element to preclude the heat generated in a detecting element from being propagated to the reference element. The resistance value of the reference element is thereby prevented from being varied by a temperature variation resulting from the heating in the detecting element to attain accurate concentration measurement.
