PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber type blood purifier for medical use with high water permeability, which is excellent in safety and module assemblability and used for treating a chronic kidney failure. SOLUTION: In a hollow fiber membrane mainly composed of a polysulfone-based polymer containing a hydrophilic polymer, the membrane thickness of the hollow fiber membrane is 10-50μm, an outer surface opening rate is 8-25%, a thickness deviation degree is equal to or higher than 0.6, and the presence ratio of the hydrophilic polymer on the outer surface is 25-50 mass%. The elution of the hydrophilic polymer from the hollow fiber membrane is 10 ppm or less, the burst pressure of the hollow fiber membrane is 0.5-2.0 MPa, the rupture strength of the hollow fiber membrane is 450 gf/mm<SP>2</SP>or higher, and rupture elongation is 30%/filament or higher. The blood purifier houses the hollow fiber membrane, and a highly water permeable hollow fiber membrane type blood purifier is characterized in that the water permeability of pure water is 150-2,000 ml/m<SP>2</SP>/hr/mmHg.
