Absorbent tissue paper comprising an adhesive applied to at least a part of one surface (b)of the absorbent tissue paper, but covering not more than 80 % of such surface area, wherein the adhesive is being applied on the surface (b) either by spraying or by coating or by printing during or after manufacturing of such absorbent tissue paper or by initiating penetration of such adhesive from an inner layer through one outer ply to the surface of such outer ply under the influence of liquid and / or mechanical force. The absorbent tissue paper is especially useful for picking up solid particles in the household area.
