An on-vehicle navigation device includes: vehicle position detection means for detecting the position and advance direction of the vehicle o which the navigation device is mounted; road sign line detection means for detecting a road sign line from the road image acquired by a camera from the front or back of the vehicle; map matching candidate specification means for specifying a road as a map matching candidate according to the position and the advance direction of the vehicle detected by the vehicle position detection means; judgment means for judging whether the vehicle is running on the road specified by the map matching candidate specification means according to the detection result of the road sign line by the road sign line detection means; map matching means for correcting the position of the vehicle detected by the vehicle position detection means according to the road o which the vehicle is judged to be running by the judgment means; and vehicle position display means for displaying the vehicle position after the correction by the map matching means on the road map.
