<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and apparatus in which excellent characteristics can be obtained from a low-speed moving environment to a high-speed moving environment. <P>SOLUTION: A signal received by a communication system for communication using the same frequency band among a plurality of users is despread by a matched filter 500, a channel estimation is performed by channel estimating means 501, 507 using a pilot symbol, and a signal for each path is combined by combiners 503, 509 in accordance with the estimated channel. A symbol is determined from a result of the combination by symbol determiners 504, 510 and converted into a bit stream, and one of a plurality of symbols determined by the symbol determiners 504, 510 is selected by a switching means 514 in accordance with an error between a signal combined by the combiners 503, 509 and a known pilot symbol. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
