<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner capable of changing the correction value for correcting the reading-level difference in the vicinity of the joint between a front half part and a rear half part. <P>SOLUTION: A CCD image sensor has such a structure in which the electric charges stored in photodiodes are transferred by shift registers and the electrical signals thereof are outputted by being divided at a central part into a front half part and a rear half part, while shift registers are also provided for even-numbered pixels and odd-numbered pixels for each of the output directions of the front half part and the rear half part. The outputs of the CCD sensor for each of the output directions of the front half part and the rear half part are signal-processed to make digital conversion. A γ correction is made for the data synthesized by the digital-converted outputs of the even-numbered pixels and the odd-numbered pixels of the front half part or the data synthesized by the digital-converted outputs of the even-numbered pixels and the odd-numbered pixels of the rear half part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
