<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a temperature drift in detection sensitivity by preventing the detection sensitivity form being affected by the temperature drift of a reference voltage supplied from a reference voltage source to a driving circuit, while using the reference voltage source for controlling a driving level. <P>SOLUTION: This method/instrument uses the driving circuit for supplying a driving signal to a vibrator, the first reference voltage source for supplying the first reference voltage to the driving circuit, and for regulating the driving level, a detection circuit for processing an output signal output from the vibrator, and for outputting a detection signal 27 in response to a physical quantity and proportional to the first reference voltage, a reference voltage source 6 for supplying the second reference voltage B, and a modulation circuit 5 for modulating the detection signal 27.
