PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for specifically detecting Penicillium marneffei as the pathogen of deep mycosis.

SOLUTION: The technique for specifically detecting Penicillium marneffei comprises detecting a specific base sequence as an example of gene sequences specific to Penicillium marneffei. For example, this technique comprises using a forward side primer of a specific base sequence and a reverse side primer of the specific base sequence and amplifying a gene fragment of the specific base sequence by PCR.
