<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular headlamp capable of changing an illuminance distribution of a light distribution pattern to enhance visibility in a location distant from a vehicle as needed. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicular headlamp 1 is provided, in a lamp chamber, with a reflector 10 for reflecting light from a discharge bulb 20 toward an optical axis Ax, a projection lens 8, and a shade member 12 for partially shading light reflected from the reflector 10. A generally ellipsoidal movable reflector 14 having a first focal point F1 at the position of the discharge bulb 20 and a second focal point F2 at a position between the projection lens 8 and the shade member 12 is formed so as to be tilted by using the first focal point F1 as a supporting point above the optical axis Ax between the projection lens 8 and the reflector 10. The movable reflector 14 selectively reflects light from the discharge bulb 20 toward either of first and second additional reflectors 16 and 18 arranged below the optical axis Ax and having light distribution patterns different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
