PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making the inside of a sequencer have a simulation operation function to perform operation confirmation of a program by the sequencer single body so as to eliminate a conventional fault wherein input/output equipment is manually operated when performing the operation confirmation of the program of the sequencer or wherein the operation confirmation is performed by externally preparing a simulation device. SOLUTION: The inside of the sequencer is provided with an input relay part, an output relay part, an input buffer part, an output buffer part, a simulation operation changeover device, and a simulation input part. When performing simulation operation, the input relay part and the output relay part used in the program are separated from input equipment and output equipment by the simulation operation changeover device. At that time, the simulation input part and the input relay part are connected. By imparting a simulation signal to the simulation input part from an external controller by communication and confirming a state of the output relay part from the external controller by the communication, the operation confirmation by the simulation operation can be performed.
