PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device capable of performing leak diagnosis of an evaporating fuel treatment device accurately. SOLUTION: In an evaporation system 1 purging evaporating gas generated by evaporation of fuel in a fuel tank 2 to an engine intake system 12, a temperature sensor 9 detecting temperature in the fuel tank 2 and a pressure sensor 8 detecting pressure in the evaporation system in the fuel tank 2 are provided. And a vent cut valve 5 maintaining the evaporation system under a sealed condition and leak diagnosis means S14, S16 performing leak diagnosis of evaporation gas based on change amount of output of the temperature sensor 9 and change amount of output of the pressure sensor 9 are provided.
