PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular energy absorber capable of changing the loading characteristic according to a collision form. SOLUTION: A fixed base 24 has a crest-shaped part 26 projected to form a crest shape and an energy absorbing member 30 formed to cross the top part 29 of the crest-shaped part 26 is abutted to the crest-shaped part 26. A part of the energy absorbing member 30 crossing the top part 29 is provided with a restraining means 100 capable of restraining the energy absorbing member 30 and turning the restriction ON/OFF.
