PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which control of a fixing heater with high reliability can be performed, while the influence due to noise is suppressed despite the configuration by hardware. SOLUTION: The control of the heater 33 is performed by the hardware configuration composed of an energizing circuit (a transistor 53 etc.), a temperature detection circuit (a thermistor 39 etc.), a noise cancellation circuit 56 and a control circuit 58. Also, the apparatus comprises a configuration of applying an output V 3 of a low level as an abnormal signal to a latch circuit 57, upon the receipt of an output V 2 indicating that the noise cancellation circuit 56 is an abnormal temperature, continuously for a prescribed number of times.
