PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device restraining an increase in a chip area. SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup device comprises a pixel that performs photoelectric conversion and is two-dimensionally arranged, a memory that accumulates an output signal from the pixel and is two-dimensionally arranged, and a pixel output line for outputting a signal from the pixel to the memory. In this case, the number of rows in the memory differs from that in the pixel output line. The number of lines in the memory is reduced by changing the number of rows in the memory, thus reducing the entire area of a memory section, and hence restraining the chip area.
