PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus performing exact gradation conversion even when an inflection point in a linear characteristic area and a logarithm characteristic area of an imaging sensor always changes. SOLUTION: This imaging apparatus having the imaging sensor provided with the linear characteristic area and the logarithm characteristic area and a gradation transforming part 409 for performing gradation conversion of an image signal comprises a gradation conversion LUT storing part 4092 means for storing at least two types of gradation conversion information being a first gradation conversion characteristic being gradation conversion information for the linear characteristic area and a second gradation conversion characteristic being gradation conversion information for the logarithm characteristic area. A gradation conversion information rewriting part 4094 is provided which rewrites a switching point into changed new gradation conversion information in accordance with the changed inflection point when the inflection point is changed.
