PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller and its manufacturing method capable of preventing reduction in mechanical strength of both end parts, by dispensing with cutting and grinding work of both end parts of a metallic core body. SOLUTION: This roller has the hollow cylindrical metallic core body 10. The metallic core body 10 is a roller formed by performing a drawing process of both end parts 11 of a metallic element pipe provided by drawing and having inner-outer diameters being substantially constant over the total length while substantially maintaining its thickness. The metallic core body is manufactured by performing a drawing process of both end parts of the metallic element pipe having inner-outer diameters being substantially equal over the total length while substantially maintaining its thickness.
