PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure of axial gap electric motor, capable of achieving a higher cooling performance compared with air-cooled type, while serving as an electric motor for a large capacity and vehicle-mounted application. SOLUTION: In an axial gap electric motor, in which a stator 3 and a disc rotor 2 are arranged opposed to each other along a rotating axis 1, among the outer and inner circumferences of the stator 3, a stator cooling structure adapted to cool the stator 3 is provided, by spraying liquid refrigerant with electrical insulating properties from at least either one.
