PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat structure serviceable in such a condition that the seat bottom is moved forward from the standard position, capable of making the move by a simple procedure, preventing the seat bottom from hopping out certainly in the condition set in the standard position, and assuring fine appearance in any service condition and also a high safety. SOLUTION: The vehicle seat structure is composed of the seat bottom 2 and a seat back 3 independent of each other, wherein the seat bottom 2 is set on the upper stage 5 of the two-stage floor and arranged movably between the standard set position and the position shifted down forward in the vehicle by means of a seat bottom moving mechanism 21, which 21 has one end pivoted rotatably fore and aft in the front part of the upper stage floor 5 and has the other end fitted with a turn lever 19 pivoted rotatably on the undersurface of the seat bottom 2, and the arrangement further includes a seat bottom levitation preventing mechanism 22 consisting of an engaging pawl 15 in the seat back 3 and an engagement part 12 in the tail part of the seat bottom 2, the two being arranged to engage each other owing to the behavior of the seat bottom 2 at the time of head-on collision.
