PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-carbon steel sheet which is soft, has superior ductility, hardly forms voids therein when stamped, and has superior hardenability together with superior formability for an extension flange. SOLUTION: The high-carbon steel sheet having both superior hardenability and superior formability for the extension flange includes, by mass%, 0.22-0.45% C, 0.01-0.70% Cr, 0.005-0.050% Ti and 0.0003-0.0050% B; and includes carbides of which the average particle diameter is 0.1 to 1.0μm, and of which the ratio of the standard deviation of particle diameters to the average particle diameter is 1.0 or less.
