A printer unit in a mobile terminal and a method thereof are provided to output image data, stored in a mobile terminal, on the spot by directly connecting a small-sized portable printer to the mobile terminal, without the necessity of going through a middle terminal, such as a personal computer. A mobile terminal(100) comprises a mobile terminal module(110), a printing control part(120), an interface part(130), a power supply part(140), and a connector(150). The mobile terminal module(110) means hardware that comprises a microprocessor to control the overall operations of the mobile terminal(100) and a memory. The image data photographed through a camera installed at the mobile terminal(100) are stored in the memory, and the image data are transmitted to the printing control part(120) according to the control of the microprocessor. The printing control part(120) comprises software, such as a communication program for executing data communication with a printer unit(200), a printing program for outputting image data stored in the mobile terminal module(110), through the printer unit(200), and hardware containing the software. The interface part(130) controls the flow of the data to be transmitted to the printer unit(200) through the connector(150) or the data transmitted from the printer unit(200). The power supply part(140) supplies power necessary for the overall operations of the mobile terminal(100). |
