<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for mass production of porphyran comprising effectively utilizing laver to be wasted or burned so as to create value in view of strict prohibition of disposal of unused laver in ocean or burnout of unused laver in these days. <P>SOLUTION: The method for mass production of porphyran comprises steaming and drying raw laver for dried laver sheets or pieces to produce a large amount of long preservable raw material laver for porphyran, and effectively removing foreign substances from the laver through utilizing the characteristics of the raw material laver without using expensive ethyl alcohol. The method causes high-yield and environmental pollution-preventive process. The method solves the following problems: environmental pollution is caused by wasting a large amount of unused laver such as aged laver in the end stage of harvesting, scrapped laver during production, defective laver caused at aquafarms and/or deadstock laver; several cases of conventional methods for producing porphyran are proposed but every case is not suitable for industrial mass production while better suiting in studies because expensive ethyl alcohol is largely consumed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
