摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst material having excellent catalytic property and durability and produced at a saved cost without being eluted even if it is brought into contact with an acidic electrolytic membrane, its production method, a catalyst electrode, and an electrochemical device. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst material contains at least a conductive powder and a catalytic substance which is produced from a compound derived from a precursor of a coordination compound having a transition metal as a center metal and/or a molecular assembly and a noble metal material. The production method of the catalyst material involves steps of depositing the noble metal material on the surface of the conductive powder, mixing the obtained noble metal-containing conductive powder and a precursor of the coordination compound having a transition metal as a center metal and/or the molecular assembly, and firing the mixture.
