<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress consumption of power by enabling a quick shift from a normal mode to a power saving mode if there is no user within a detection area near a multifunction apparatus at the time of job ending, and also to prevent an unnecessary shift to the power saving mode. <P>SOLUTION: Recognition information of the user is read by always or regularly transmitting an electromagnetic wave signal to a memory card 200 carried by the user who enters the detection area. Whether or not the user is present within the detection area is judged from the recognition information read by an RFID control part 117 at the time of job ending. If it is judged that the user is not present, the normal mode which is a power supply state enabling job practice is shifted to the power saving mode in which the consumption of power is reduced more than in the normal mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
