IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE AND IMAGE DISPLAY METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for displaying images reflecting frames in background images.

SOLUTION: An image display device 1 acquires frame data 82 and background image data 85 stored to an image data memory 340 by control of CPU 311, and extends both the data 82 and 85 from the data extension circuit 312 of a reading control circuit 324. The reading control circuit 324 stores both the data 82 and 85 by switching bank memories 321 and 322. VDP 330 displays on an image display unit 25 on the basis of the frame data 82 and the background image data 85 while switching the bank memories 321 and 322.
